Glens sign Schilte-Brown on loan from Kilmarnock

Glentoran has confirmed the signing of defender Ethan Schilte-Brown on a season-long loan deal from Kilmarnock, pending international clearance. The 21-year-old Scottish Premiership player, who was named Kilmarnock's Young Player of the Year for 2025-26, made 18 appearances for the Rugby Park club last season and has played 19 times this season for Killie.

This move provides Glens manager Declan Devine with more defensive options following the arrival of Zeno Ibsen Rossi earlier in the summer. Schilte-Brown started his career at MLS side Orlando City before joining Kilmarnock's academy and has had loan spells with Cumnock Juniors, Albion Rovers, and Dumbarton. He has now established himself in the Kilmarnock first-team squad.

Ethan expressed his excitement about the opportunity, stating that he is determined to make the most of his time at Glentoran, aiming to compete at the top of the table and play in important games. Manager Devine expressed enthusiasm about securing Schilte-Brown on a loan basis, as the addition not only provides greater depth in central defence but also adds real quality to the team.

The defender boasts a strong, athletic presence and is composed on the ball, with a proven ability to make first-team appearances for Kilmarnock and gain valuable experience on loan.

Glentoran currently sits third in the Irish Premiership table following their recent victories over Limavady United and Ballymena United, as well as a loss to derby rivals Linfield. Their next match is against Crusaders at the Oval, which will take place this Saturday.
