Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026: The biggest announcements and trailers

Game developers are set to make their presence known during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live event on Tuesday at 2PM ET. This two-hour prelude to the conference promises an array of announcements and trailers, including reveals for Final Fantasy VII Revelation, The Witcher 3’s expansion Songs of the Past, Gears of War: E-Day, and a Game of Thrones strategy game.

Preparations for the event have been hinted at through social media teasers, and the show is scheduled to precede the potentially highly anticipated release of Grand Theft Auto VI on November 19th.

The games industry is currently focused on delivering major releases in the coming weeks, with the upcoming GTA VI set to have its own reveal event on Thursday, meaning it is unlikely to be featured at Opening Night Live. Some of the major titles that could potentially be unveiled include an expanded demo for Onimusha, a Battletoads art game, a revival of RollerCoaster Tycoon, and GeForce Now’s support for the Steam Controller. Additionally, the developers of The Witcher 4 have set their sights on a 2028 release date.
