Exodus Release Date Revealed, The Mass Effect-Like RPG Is Coming In April

Exodus shares plenty of similarities with Mass Effect and seems to be filling the sci-fi RPG void; you won't have to wait long to play it, too.

Exodus Release Date Revealed, The Mass Effect-Like RPG Is Coming In April

Archetype Entertainment unveiled the release date for their Mass Effect-inspired space RPG, Exodus, during gamescom's Opening Night Live. The game will be available on April 7, 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. A new cinematic trailer introduced an intelligent octopus named Salt, who pilots a mech suit and serves as a long-range sniper in the game.

Salt, an Awakened, is an ultra-intelligent creature capable of communicating with humans and provides cover with an ink smokescreen. The trailer also showcased emotional conflict between Salt and the main character, Jun, as they navigate the story together. Exodus features time dilation, player choices that affect outcomes, and a diverse crew, including a Traveler called Jun.

The game's narrative is led by veteran narrative designer Drew Karpyshyn, known for his work on BioWare's critically acclaimed titles. Matthew McCouhey provided voice work for the trailer and appears in the game. Exodus first premiered at The Game Awards 2023 and gained attention for its resemblance to BioWare's style, with its sci-fi aesthetic and action RPG combat.

The studio, now working under Wizards of the Coast since 2020, is eager for players to experience their creation.
