Eid-el-Maulud: Tinubu seeks prayers for Nigeria, congratulates Muslims

President Bola Tinubu has extended his congratulations to Muslims for the celebration of Eid-el-Maulud, urging them to embrace the positive teachings of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). In a statement released on Tuesday, Tinubu's Special Adviser in Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, emphasized that the faithful should not only commemorate the Prophet's birthday but also use the occasion for reflection, prayer, and learning from the Prophet's "exceptional virtues".

The President highlighted the importance of adhering to the Prophet's teachings, which include devotion, perseverance, tolerance, humility, and selflessness. Tinubu also called on religious leaders to utilize this period to pray for Nigeria and to advise their followers to apply the lessons from Prophet Muhammad's life in their dedication to the nation.

Furthermore, the President encouraged the celebrants to extend a helping hand to the less fortunate and vulnerable, embodying the spirit of the season. He also sought prayers against the country's insecurity and other challenges.
