Eid-el-Maulud: Gov Adeleke urges forgiveness, unity

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has urged residents to embrace forgiveness, peace and unity as Muslims celebrate Eid-el-Maulud, the birth of Prophet Muhammad. In a message released by his spokesperson, the governor encouraged citizens to reflect on Prophet Muhammad's virtues of compassion, tolerance and peaceful coexistence.

He called on political stakeholders and residents to move past the recent governorship election and focus on the collective development of Osun State. Adeleke highlighted that the teachings of Prophet Muhammad can guide the creation of a society built on mutual respect, understanding and harmony. He expressed gratitude for the support and prayers of Muslim citizens throughout the election process.

The governor reiterated his administration's dedication to promoting religious harmony, safeguarding freedom of worship and ensuring fair governance across the state. He emphasized the importance of reconciliation among citizens, urging them to forgive past grievances and collaborate for the common good. Governor Adeleke believed that lasting peace and sustainable development in Osun State could only be realized when residents of all backgrounds embrace unity and collective responsibility.

He also prayed for ongoing peace, prosperity and divine blessings for the Muslim Ummah, Osun State and Nigeria as Muslims observed Eid-el-Maulud.
