Eid-e-Milad 2026: Thane Traffic Police Announce Major Diversions And Restrictions In Mumbra, Ulhasnagar

Thane City Traffic Police have announced significant traffic diversions and restrictions in Mumbra and Ulhasnagar to facilitate smooth passage during Eid-e-Milad celebrations on August 26, 2026. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Pankaj Shirsat has issued these advisories at 2:00 PM, valid until the end of the religious processions.

For heavy vehicles, entry into Mumbra via Retibunder and Y-Junction (Kalsekar College) is temporarily barred. They must take the Mumbra Bypass as an alternate route. Public and private buses, similarly, face entry restrictions at the same points, with passengers disembarking at Retibunder or Y-Junction and turning back, or bypassing Mumbra city.

In Ulhasnagar, route closures and rolling diversions are set along the Nehru Nagar to Kailash Colony corridor. Vehicle parking is completely prohibited along this route, and drivers are advised to use side roads and alternate lanes for parking. Residents and commuters are urged to plan ahead, utilize designated bypass roads, and cooperate with traffic authorities. Emergency response vehicles, including police vans, fire tenders, and ambulances, are exempt from these restrictions.
