‘Diplomatic Immunity’ Medical Drama From ‘Covert Affairs’ Creators Lands Series Order at USA Network

USA Network has secured a straight-to-series green light for a new medical drama titled "Diplomatic Immunity," created by the team behind the hit series "Covert Affairs." The show follows a young American doctor who is assigned to the medical office at the U.S. Embassy in Rome, where they must handle challenging medical cases while navigating diplomacy, government personalities, and geopolitical situations.

The drama, which includes romantic entanglements, is being produced by Fox Entertainment Studios and distributed internationally by Fox Entertainment Global. This marks the first series order for USA Network since the company was split up by Comcast and Versant. Matt Corman and Chris Ord, who created "Covert Affairs" and "Daredevil: Born Again," will serve as showrunners and executive producers for the series.
