Detroit Lions unveil first look at Nike Rivalry uniforms

On Tuesday morning, the Detroit Lions unveiled a first glimpse of their Nike Rivalry uniforms, which they will wear against the Minnesota Vikings on November 1 during Week 8 of the upcoming NFL season. The Lions made the announcement across their social media platforms. The team's motto is "Defend. The. Den."

The Nike Rivalry uniforms are exclusive to the eight teams in the AFC South and NFC North for the 2026 NFL season. Each team is allowed to wear these unique jerseys just once, and they must be donned at home against a division rival.

Lions President and CEO Rod Wood expressed his excitement about the new uniforms, stating that they maintain consistency with the team's colors and overall appearance, while also incorporating a modern twist that fans will appreciate. The design process between the team and Nike took several years, with multiple iterations and adjustments until a final version was agreed upon.

The Minnesota Vikings have also announced that they will wear their Nike Rivalry alternate uniforms when the Lions visit their stadium on December 20 for a Sunday Night Football game. The NFL introduced Rivalry uniforms last year, with AFC East and NFC West teams donning the jerseys for the first time.
