Cool Japan: Human fridge chills workers in extreme heat

A human fridge, called the Do Hiemon Box, is becoming popular in Japan as workers struggle with extreme heat. The portable machine cools people down in just a few minutes, much like a fridge cools food. Isao Tabuchi, a 51-year-old warehouse worker, praised the device, saying it helped him recover from the intense summer heat. The compact unit, priced at $9,400, has already been sold to construction sites, factories, warehouses, and potentially even baseball stadiums.

Workers such as 24-year-old Taichi Konishi have found the Do Hiemon Box incredibly helpful, using it multiple times a day to cool down after strenuous physical labor. As temperatures climb higher, these human refrigerators could play a vital role in protecting the workforce and attracting new employees.
