Balochistan's former governor Imranullah Khan laid to rest in Charsadda

CHARSADDA: The funeral prayers for former Balochistan governor Gen Imranullah Khan were conducted on Monday, with numerous individuals, comprising high-ranking government and military personnel, attending his final rites. Gen Imranullah Khan passed away in Islamabad on Sunday night after a prolonged illness at the age of 93. Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti journeyed to Charsadda to participate in the funeral prayers and recited a prayer for the departed soul, asking for an elevated status in the afterlife.

The chief minister also met family members of the deceased and conveyed his sincere condolences on the passing of the former governor.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mir Sarfraz Bugti highlighted how Imranullah Khan had made significant contributions to the development and advancement of Balochistan, as well as to national defense. He emphasized that the legacy of the late governor would forever be remembered. The loss of former Governor Imranullah Khan was deeply mourned, with many people offering tributes to his invaluable services to the nation and Balochistan.

Born on December 3, 1932, in Utmanzai, Imranullah served as the governor of Balochistan under the PPP-led administration from May 1994 to May 1997. After retiring from the military in May 1991, he was appointed as the governor of Balochistan by Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto in May 1994. He resigned from the governorship for personal reasons in May 1997.
