Baleba completes £70m Man Utd move from Brighton

Manchester United has signed Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba to a five-year contract, with a one-year extension option, for an initial fee of $88.6 million plus another $6.8 million in potential add-ons. The 21-year-old was linked with the move by ESPN, Sky Sports, and BBC. Baleba expressed his excitement about joining "the club of my dreams" and working with manager Michael Carrick.

Over 112 matches for Brighton from 2022-23 to 2025-26, Baleba scored four goals and provided two assists. Brighton sporting director Mike Cave praised Baleba's development during his time at the club. The Red Devils, who recently lost to Hull in their Premier League opener, will face Ipswich Town in their second match at Old Trafford on Sunday.
