Awal Mohammed pledges to rebuild NPP Nasara Wing and mobilise Zongo communities for 2028

Awal Mohammed, a candidate for the National Nasara Organiser position of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has announced plans to revamp the party's Nasara Wing and bolster its reach in Zongo communities in preparation for the 2028 general elections. In his nomination submission on August 25, Mohammed highlighted his experience within the NPP's communications team as the foundation for his ability to lead the rebranded wing.

He emphasized his long-standing ties with Zongo communities and the role he has played in disseminating the party's policies, underscoring his suitability for the post. A critical aspect of his strategy involves constructing a robust grassroots framework to identify, organize, and accurately record Nasara members across the nation.

Mohammed identified the absence of comprehensive data on members, especially students linked with the Nasara Wing in universities, as a pressing issue that demands immediate attention. If elected, he aimed to establish grassroots structures and systems that would enhance membership tracking and organizational coordination. Mohammed also praised the NPP's actions over its eight-year tenure, particularly in Zongo communities, such as the creation of the Zongo Development Fund and the decision to acknowledge Arabic as an examinable subject.

He criticized the party's failure to effectively communicate these accomplishments to beneficiaries, which he believed contributed to the party's setbacks in the 2024 election. He attributed this to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) exploiting the lack of communication during the campaign. With his political communication experience, including representation of the NPP on international media platforms such as the BBC, Voice of America, and Deutsche Welle, Mohammed is confident in his ability to address communication challenges.

His ultimate goal is to rejuvenate the Nasara Wing into a well-organized and effective mobilization structure that can re-establish the NPP's support in Zongo communities and contribute to victory in the upcoming 2028 elections.
