Apple's new Mac mini, featuring M6 and M5 Pro

Apple's newest Mac mini, featuring advanced M6 and M5 Pro chips, offers a substantial leap in AI performance, making it an ideal device for always-on agentic computing. The new Mac mini delivers up to 4 times faster AI performance, 2 times faster graphics and storage, and improved connectivity in a compact design.

The M6 chip brings a significant performance boost, with a 12-core CPU offering two more cores compared to its predecessor and the world's fastest single-threaded performance. A 12-core GPU, packed with Neural Accelerators in each core, enables up to 4 times faster AI performance and 2 times faster graphics than the M4 version. Additionally, the Dual 16-core Neural Engine provides up to 2 times faster performance compared to its predecessor, further enhancing the Mac mini's AI capabilities.

The M5 Pro chip takes performance to the next level, featuring up to an 18-core CPU for remarkable multithreaded performance and up to a 20-core GPU with enhanced shader cores and third-generation ray tracing. This chip also supports Neural Accelerators in each GPU core, delivering significant gains in AI compute compared to the previous Mac mini. With up to 64GB of unified memory and 307GB/s of memory bandwidth, the M5 Pro allows users to manage larger local AI models and complex tasks more efficiently.

Both models come equipped with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, along with upgraded 2.5Gb Ethernet, with a 10Gb option available for faster wired connectivity. The Mac mini is also compatible with macOS 27, which introduces Siri AI, Apple Intelligence features, and various improvements for an enhanced user experience. Siri AI can understand context, provide personalized assistance, and integrate seamlessly with Spotlight, systemwide menus, and other applications.

Apple Intelligence further refines app performance, making browsing, automation creation, and photo editing more efficient. The new Mac mini also supports Thunderbolt 4, 5, HDMI, and Ethernet ports, allowing users to connect multiple systems for large AI model processing and supporting precise synchronization between displays and cameras through genlock support.
