Anwar pays tribute to 'Father of MRSM' Abdul Wahab Alwi

KUALA LUMPUR: In a somber Facebook post today, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim conveyed his deepest condolences to the family of the late Abdul Wahab Alwi, the founder of Maktab Rendah Sains Mara (MRSM). Anwar lauded Abdul Wahab, affectionately known as the "Father of MRSM," for his monumental contributions to national education.

Abdul Wahab's visionary conceptualization and development of the MRSM initiative were instrumental in expanding access to science education for Malaysian children, leaving an indelible mark on the country's educational landscape. May Allah SWT grant his soul mercy, forgive his sins, and welcome him into His righteous company, Anwar expressed.

The prime minister further highlighted that Abdul Wahab's endeavors not only facilitated the growth of MRSM into an institution that has nurtured numerous Malaysians who excel in various fields, but also significantly enriched the nation's intellectual and skilled workforce. Abdul Wahab Alwi bid his final farewell at 3 a.m. on this day, marking the end of a life well-lived. He was 84 years old.
