Advisory issued as waterlogging brings Delhi, Gurugram traffic to crawl; Check affected areas

Delhi has been hit with severe waterlogging as heavy rain swept through the city, prompting the weather department to issue a red alert. The rain, which has been a rare relief after weeks of heat and humidity, is expected to continue throughout the day. The alert covers all 11 districts of the capital, including Central, East, New, North, Northeast, Northwest, Shahdara, South, Southeast, Southwest, and West Delhi.

Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh are under orange alerts as heavy to very heavy rainfall is forecast in isolated areas. The orange alerts cover districts such as Chhatarpur, Datia, Gwalior, Niwari, Panna, Rewa, Satna, Sidhi, Singrauli, and Tikamgarh in Madhya Pradesh, as well as Ambedkar Nagar, Ayodhya, Azamgarh, Gorakhpur, Jhansi, Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Varanasi, and Jaunpur in Uttar Pradesh.

The continuous rainfall has also raised concerns about flooding in areas that have already received substantial rainfall, with the IMD warning of a low to moderate flash flood risk in parts of Madhya Pradesh and eastern Uttar Pradesh over the next 24 hours.
