3,400 lipstick kiss marks in 4 hours: Gwalior man fined after girlfriend’s viral car makeover

Aditya Sikarwar, a resident of Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh, found himself in hot water after his girlfriend performed a unique "lipstick art" makeover on his car. The stunt involved applying approximately 3,400 lipstick kiss marks to the vehicle, covering its doors, bonnet, boot, and pillars. The process took nearly four hours to complete, resulting in an unusual and eye-catching spectacle.

The viral images of the car makeover quickly caught the attention of the Gwalior traffic police, who identified the vehicle through its registration number and located the car and its owner in the Thatipur area. The police informed Sikarwar that covering or modifying a vehicle in a way that alters its original appearance could potentially violate provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act and road-safety norms.

To address the issue, the Gwalior traffic police imposed a fine of Rs 5,500 on Aditya Sikarwar and seized the car. The incident quickly gained traction on social media, sparking a range of reactions. Some users questioned whether this was the "bare minimum woke" the internet keeps talking about, while others debated whether the unique art of lipstick marking violated traffic rules. Ultimately, the act of using lipstick to perform marketing stunts was deemed a crime.
