UP To Set Up Japan Desk, Accelerate Investment & Tourism Ties With Yamanashi

Lucknow, August 24: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath convened a meeting with Invest UP officials and other departments to bolster ties with Japanese businesses and tourism. The Chief Minister noted, "For the first time, a delegation of 240 people arrived in the state. This visit created a positive atmosphere between Japan and Uttar Pradesh." The guests from Japan praised the state's progress. The meeting aimed to maintain ongoing dialogue and connect the youth with employment opportunities through investment.

During the session, details were shared about the MoUs signed by the Japanese delegation, highlighting cooperation in investment, manufacturing, green energy, technology, skill development, education, and tourism. The Chief Minister sought information on land acquisition for a Japanese City under YEIDA, with officials reporting that over 350 acres of the 500-acre plan had been acquired. The Chief Minister directed the completion of this task promptly.

The Chief Minister proposed that a delegation from Uttar Pradesh attend key events in Japan in September, October, and December, including ministers, public representatives, officials, industrialists, and experts. He emphasized the need to accelerate Japanese language training and skill development programs, strengthening employment opportunities for youth in Japanese regions like Yamanashi Prefecture.

CM Yogi Adityanath's government initiated linking teachers with sensitization videos and Prashast 2.0 to enhance child screening. The Chief Minister also suggested creating a dedicated Yamanashi Japan Desk within Invest UP to maintain continuous dialogue and report progress every third month. He directed the development of a route for Japanese tourists visiting Buddhist sites in Uttar Pradesh, including Sarnath, Kushinagar, Shravasti, and Kapilvastu.

The CM directed organizing special sessions with Japanese experts at upcoming trade shows to benefit the youth.

UNESCO's inclusion of Nara in the World Heritage List, similar to Sarnath, prompted the need for establishing a cultural connection between the two regions. The Chief Minister directed taking steps to promote bilateral tourism between Uttar Pradesh and Yamanashi Prefecture's tour operators and enhancing Buddhist Circuit tourism extensively.
