President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned that Ukraine will not be used as a bargaining chip in international agreements and will not sacrifice its desire to live independently. This statement was made during events commemorating Ukraine's 35th anniversary of independence, according to UATV English. Zelenskyy highlighted the resilience of the Ukrainian people and their refusal to be "pavement under the feet of tsars and warlords."

He stressed that Ukraine will not submit to anything they do not believe in and will never give up their dream of living independently. Zelenskyy pointed out that the future of the conflict is not only at stake for Ukraine but also for Europe. However, he cautioned that there is a risk that the war may be quieted at the expense of Ukrainian independence and the lives of the Ukrainian people.

Zelenskyy affirmed that they are not fighting alone and are bolstering the strength of the Ukrainian people, believing they will achieve a dignified peace for their nation with the support of friends and partners. He added that no nation could have managed the conflict with just its own weapons and no nation could have withstood such devastating blows without the help of the world.
