South African police arrest 4 in the killing of former champion boxer Zolani Tete

South African police have arrested four individuals in connection with the killing of former world champion boxer Zolani Tete, according to authorities. Tete was shot in his car outside his home in Mdantsane, Eastern Cape, last week when men wearing balaclavas opened fire. A woman who was in the vehicle was injured and subsequently hospitalized.

Police stated that one of the suspects arrested on the second day of the investigation is set to appear in court on Monday, while the remaining three suspects will appear in court on a later date. Tete was a former World Boxing Federation flyweight champion from 2007 to 2008 and held the World Boxing Organization bantamweight title from 2017 to 2019.
