The singing IGP Olatunji Disu

In a heartwarming display, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Olatunji Disu serenaded his wife, Oluwafunmilola Mutiat, on the 30th anniversary of their marriage. The video of the IGP taking a break from police duties to sing to his wife has provided a glimpse into the personal life of the nation's top policeman. This is not the first time we have seen the IGP showcasing his softer side; last year, he celebrated his promotion to the post of Assistant Inspector General of Police by giving his mother a full salute.

The 88-year-old mother attempted to return the salute, which culminated in a bear hug from the proud son. The IGP, who has been in his position for a few months, is quickly dispelling the notion of the police as a formal and rigid institution. The latest video features the IGP and his wife chanting along to the popular love song "Iyawo mi" by Timi Dakolo, which has become a staple at various events across the nation.

The song's lyrics express deep sentiments of love, friendship, and joy, reflecting the IGP's personality. Another public officer who has caught my attention is the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike. Known for his singing and dancing skills, Wike has taken his talents to new heights since becoming the FCT Minister.

He dances at every opportunity, on camera or not, and his dancing prowess has even outshone that of the Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke. Beyond dancing and singing, Minister Wike is also an accomplished cook, viewing it as a comforting hobby during his free time.
