TechTuber Returns With Dual-Tower CPU Cooler On NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti GPU
Earlier in the month, we reported on TechTuber and extreme PC modder TrashBench and their direct-to-die GPU watercooler project. Well, they’re back with another GPU cooling experiment, involving an NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti, its cooler, and a massive CPU cooler. The project starts, as these things usually do, with TrashBench choosing the sacrificial lamb to […] The post TechTuber Returns With Dual-Tower…
TechTuber and extreme PC modder TrashBench have returned with a modified CPU cooler for NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti GPU. The project involves taking an NVIDIA GTX 1060 GPU cooler, removing a portion of its fins, and attaching it to a CPU block. This creates a dual-tower CPU cooling system. The initial test was performed on a GTX 1060, where the dual-tower CPU cooler resulted in a 9°C drop in temperature.
The same cooler was then applied to a GTX 1070 and GTX 1080 Ti, resulting in significant temperature reductions of 21°C and 24°C respectively. This modification not only improved overall temperature but also provided better overclocking capabilities. TrashBench has previously conducted similar experiments and has documented their progress on their YouTube channel.
