이진숙 “내가 어째서 여자 히틀러냐…김민석 마땅히 사과해야”

On the 24th, National Power member Jeon Bin-suk filed a complaint against Democratic United Party (DP) Chairman Kim Min-seok for insulting him at Seoul's Yongdu-dong police station. Jeon met with journalists outside the police station's complaint desk and said "I am a member of parliament and must uphold dignity. Moreover, as a party chairman, I represent the public."

He continued, "Why am I referred to as 'female Hitler' by Kim Min-seok?" Kim had held a '5.18 Defamation Forum' in the parliament on the 13th, branding Jeon as 'female Erhard' and 'female Hitler,' demanding his resignation or removal from office. Jeon blasted the parliament as "a place where you can't hold a forum on specific issues" and questioned if Korea had become a "Soviet-style dictatorship."

When asked by the journalist about his comments on the 5.18 forum, Jeon said "Many people may agree with my stance. That's the questioner's view, but that premise is wrong." His attorney, Jum Mu-yeong, argued that "Generally, politicians are open to criticism from the public. If ordinary citizens used such expressions against Jeon, it could be considered a borderline case of insult."

Jum contended that Kim Min-seok's remarks during the chairman election had no basis in fact or critique, constituting clear illegal behavior.
