Salah scores two goals, has two disallowed in first start for Trabzonspor

Mohamed Salah scored twice in Trabzonspor's 2-1 victory over Istanbul Basaksehir on Sunday, marking his first goals for the Turkish Super Lig club since joining from Liverpool this summer. The Egyptian forward, 34, had previously gone goalless in his first two games for Trabzonspor. Salah made his first league start after previously appearing as a substitute in the club's season opener.

He also had two shots ruled out for offside and a stoppage-time effort chalked off for a foul in the build-up. Trabzonspor now sits fourth in the Super Lig table on four points, level with Samsunspor and Galatasaray, and two points behind Genclerbirligi. Salah's goal-filled performance sets the stage for Trabzonspor's Europa League play-off second leg against Ferencvaros on Thursday, where they must overcome a 1-0 deficit to qualify for the group phase.
