Rassie Erasmus challenges Springboks to turn hurt into fuel to gain redemption in Cape Town

Rassie Erasmus, the Springboks' coach, has challenged his team to turn their hurt into fuel as they seek redemption following a 33-16 defeat to the All Blacks in Johannesburg. Erasmus emphasized that the team's disappointment from last week's result should serve as a catalyst for improvement. Speaking on Monday, he stated, "We know what we have to do to bounce back strongly this week."

Despite acknowledging the challenging task ahead, Erasmus expressed the team's readiness and excitement for their upcoming match in Cape Town. The Springboks will face a New Zealand side that arrived in South Africa with confidence after securing a convincing victory in the first Test. A win for New Zealand would put them firmly in control of the four-Test series, while a consecutive loss would bury the Boks' series ambitions.

Erasmus pointed out that while the Boks created numerous scoring opportunities in the first Test, their mistakes at crucial moments proved costly. "Last week, we created so many chances, but our mistakes at crucial times let us down," he said. To rectify this, Erasmus emphasized that the team would put in significant work to ensure sharpness for the upcoming match.

Additionally, the second Test provides an opportunity to celebrate two remarkable Springbok careers. Damian de Allende reached the 100-Test milestone at Ellis Park last week, while Pieter-Steph du Toit and Ox Nché will join the exclusive 100 and 50 Test cap clubs, respectively. Erasmus expressed pride in his players, stating that both du Toit and Nché have been pillars of strength for the team both on and off the field.
