President Ruto to preside over Prisons Cadets’ passing-out parade

President William Ruto is scheduled to attend the passing-out parade of the 27th Officer Cadet class from the Kenya Prisons Service at the Prisons Staff Training College in Ruiru, Kiambu. During the ceremony, he will also officially open the newly commissioned Wanini Kirei Magereza Level IV facility, which will function similarly to a military hospital.

This women-focused prison hospital, named after the late Wanini Kireri - a former college commandant and the first woman to hold such a position - has already begun offering outpatient services since its inauguration in March. The facility is fully integrated with the Social Health Authority’s Usalama cover Public Officers Medical Scheme, ensuring comprehensive healthcare services for officers and their dependents.

These services include emergency evacuation, maternity care, specialized treatment, and various departments such as the ICU, HDU, Radiology, Dental, maternity ward, male and female wards, and a pediatric ward.
