Orihuela Launches New Tourism Experiences for Autumn

Orihuela's Tourism Department has introduced a range of new guided activities for the autumn season, focusing on gastronomy, nature, culture and local heritage. These include a Baroque Pastry Route, a panoramic walk offering views of the Vega Baja from the Sierra de Hurchillo, and special events celebrating the city's patron saint, World Tourism Day and religious celebrations.

The programme kicks off on September 4 with a "Bonanza Dinner" tasting event by Álvaro of Cerveza Segura. September's festivities honor Our Lady of Monserrate, with visits to the sanctuary and Orihuela Cathedral. A standout attraction is the Baroque Pastry Route, exploring the city's Baroque gastronomic traditions and featuring traditional sweets.

The Miguel Hernández House Museum and sensory workshop "Huéleme" are also part of the offerings. Nature lovers can enjoy the "Discover the Vega from the Sierra de Hurchillo" route on September 19. The autumn programme concludes on September 27 with a World Tourism Day route and tasting session. In October, Miguel Hernández will be celebrated through a commemorative route and the European Days of Holy Week and Easter Celebrations, featuring guided routes, visits and concerts focused on the city's religious heritage and Easter traditions.

Nature and wine tourism will also be highlighted in October, with visits to local reservoirs, wetlands, and a coastal ecological trail. Limited places are available for all activities, with reservations opening weekly through Orihuela's official tourism website.
