‘All recent reports are untrue’: Deepika Padukone’s team denies her role in Brahmastra 2

Deepika Padukone's entourage has vehemently refuted recent rumors regarding her involvement in the sequel to Brahmastra, titled Brahmastra 2. In a statement, her team emphatically asserted, "All recent reports of Deepika Padukone being a part of Brahmastra 2 or associated with the project in any capacity are untrue." In the 2022 film Brahmastra, Deepika portrayed Amrita, the mother of Shiva and a formidable Astra wielder.

The narrative concluded by introducing Dev, setting the stage for the forthcoming chapter of the series. Dev is also Amrita's romantic partner, who is portrayed as Shiva's father. Speculation had been rife following the movie's release, with Ranveer Singh and Vijay Deverakonda being among the leading contenders to play Dev. However, Deepika's latest denial arrives amidst her recent exits from prominent projects.

She previously departed from Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Spirit and Nag Ashwin's Kalki 2898 AD sequel, citing disagreements over remuneration and work hours as primary reasons for her exit. Despite the controversy surrounding her departures, several industry insiders and fellow actors have rallied behind Deepika, commending her for balancing motherhood and professional commitments.

Currently, Deepika Padukone is actively engaged in filming for Shah Rukh Khan's King and Allu Arjun's Raaka, a pan-Indian sci-fi fantasy action film directed by Atlee, who previously directed Shah Rukh Khan in Jawan.
