Neura Robotics acquires ADLATUS to build physical AI powerhouse

German robotics firm Neura Robotics has acquired ADLATUS, a company that manufactures autonomous cleaning and sweeping robots for various sectors. This marks the fifth acquisition Neura has made in the past 16 months as it seeks to construct a physical AI platform. The company plans to integrate its own sensor and AI capabilities into ADLATUS's existing fleet of robots, which will then become part of Neura's shared infrastructure called Neuraverse.

Neura CEO and founder David Reger emphasized their intention to enhance these machines with "a new brain" as cleaning is a significant global labor market and a prime example of how physical AI can revolutionize industries. The acquisition follows Neura's recent takeover of ACTIVE Shuttle, a driverless transport system from Bosch Rexroth, which will also be integrated into Neura's physical AI ecosystem.

Neura has made several bets on driverless transport systems, including the purchase of Ek Robotics and the development division of German automotive supplier Huber Automotive. The company has raised up to $1.4 billion for its Series C funding round and is focusing on expanding its Neuraverse platform and developing physical AI systems.

Physical AI has garnered substantial interest from venture capitalists, with startups in the space raising over $8 billion globally in the first half of the year, more than double 2025's annual total. The focus on warehouse automation is driven by the high labor costs and turnover in the sector, as well as the increasing affordability of robots.
