Manitoba beginning to produce ‘elite-level golfers’: Kuntz

This past week witnessed a notable rise in Manitoba's golfing talent, confirming the province's emergence as a breeding ground for elite golfers. Braxton Kuntz, a 22-year-old golfer, qualified for the Manitoba Open and demonstrated his prowess by finishing tied for 56th place, despite struggling with a quadruple bogey on the 15th hole.

Kuntz, who expressed his satisfaction with his progress and attributed his success to the support of family and friends, is set to participate in the DP World Tour qualifying school next month in Germany.

Another local golfer, Marco Trstenjak, showcased his talent by claiming the second place spot at the North Dakota Open, earning a total of US$6,150. Nachtigall, Lutz, and Spurr, who worked together to secure the Inter-Provincial Team title for Manitoba in the Canadian Men’s Mid-Amateur, also highlighted the growing strength of Manitoba's golfing scene. The trio's success, along with Kuntz and Trstenjak's individual achievements, points to a promising future for golf in Manitoba.
