Linkedua shutdown: Eight including motoring influencer held after staging illegal race on Malaysia-Singapore link

KULAI, Aug 24 — Eight individuals, including a popular motoring influencer, were remanded for four days on Aug 25 to aid investigations into an illegal race staged on the Malaysia-Singapore Second Link (Linkedua), according to Magistrate R. Salini. The remand order will remain in effect until Aug 27. The eight were arrested yesterday after police applied for the remand order at the Kulai Magistrate’s Court under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act (RTA) 1987.

Police spokesman Datuk Ab Rahaman Arsad stated that the group was believed to have blocked the road between KM33 at the Senai Utara Toll interchange and KM31 at the Johor Premium Outlet (JPO) interchange to host the race. The incident was widely shared on social media due to a video showing individuals obstructing traffic to race.
