Kremlin says British missile help for Ukraine ‘adds fuel to the fire’

Moscow has denounced Britain's decision to provide Ukraine with classified information on British-made components used to manufacture SCALP long-range cruise missiles, stating that it will only exacerbate tensions and slow down the peace process. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov accused Britain of contributing to the conflict and obstructing any attempts at a peaceful resolution.

The Russian military, Peskov claimed, was already actively seeking out and destroying any known missile production facilities in Ukraine. Last week, Moscow had warned Britain of potential consequences for supplying drones to Kyiv, alleging that British-made drones had been employed in long-range strikes against Russia for the first time.

British Prime Minister Andy Burnham arrived in Kyiv on Monday, marking his first overseas visit since assuming office, to pledge British support for enhancing Ukraine's domestic missile production capabilities. However, Peskov's assessment suggests that this move is unwelcome and counterproductive to the ongoing negotiations for peace.
