Gunmen attack Rivers monarch’s palace during cultural festival

Gunmen attacked the traditional ruler of Finima Community, HRH Dagogo Brown, during a cultural festival in Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State. The incident occurred at a masquerade display, where the assailants fired sporadically and damaged property. No deaths were reported, but several residents were injured with gunshot wounds and machete cuts.

The attack followed a dispute over cultural rites and the right to perform traditional activities. The police have launched an investigation and one suspect has been arrested, providing useful information.
