Furtado: "Girona is a great club that supports young people"

Mauro Furtado was announced as the latest addition to Girona FC on Monday, accompanied by the club's president and sporting director. Delfí Geli praised Furtado's potential, stating, "Mauro is a player of great quality, who can grow a lot and who must become an important player." Geli also expressed his satisfaction with the signing, hoping Furtado would help build a strong team capable of competing well.

Quique Cárcel, the sporting director, highlighted Furtado's adaptability, remarking, "He has a great future. He can adapt to both center-back and full-back." Cárcel further emphasized Furtado's contributions to the future of the club. Furtado himself expressed his eagerness to begin, stating, "I am ready to start working." He also mentioned a preference for center-back but acknowledged his comfort in other positions as well.

Regarding his ambition, Furtado said, "I hope to be important for the team and contribute all my effort." His primary goal, however, is to aid the team in improving and securing promotion to the First Division.
