The examination also involved the use of the Electrostatic Detection Apparatus (ESDA), a non-destructive forensic tool capable of revealing faint marks left on pages by previous writings.
Dr Wan recovered indented impressions from several pages of the pastel purple Simple Style Book journal (W2) and the olive-green Love and Peace journal (WK9), but no matching pages could be found in the respective journals.
