Dragon Ball-inspired theme park to be built near Paris

Three theme parks will be constructed near Paris as part of a €6 billion agreement between France and Saudi Arabia. The ambitious project, expected to take years to complete, will feature a manga-themed attraction inspired by the popular Japanese franchise Dragon Ball Z. French President Emmanuel Macron praised the development as unprecedented since the establishment of Disneyland Paris, emphasizing his long-standing appreciation for manga.

The precise opening date remains undetermined, but construction is anticipated to span several years, with the parks opening incrementally. The initiative was endorsed during a state visit by Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who is a fan of Japanese comics, particularly Dragon Ball Z. The project will be spearheaded by Qiddiya Investment Company, a Saudi sovereign wealth fund subsidiary, which previously announced plans for a Dragon Ball-themed park in Riyadh.

The deal, valued at approximately $6 billion, is projected to generate around 2,000 jobs. Beyond the theme parks, the agreement also underscores enhanced cooperation between France and Saudi Arabia, covering sectors such as health, transport, and energy. During the visit, Macron and bin Salman are set to sign multiple accords, including discussions on the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East and global affairs.

Macron noted that this milestone visit, amid regional challenges, reflects France and Saudi Arabia's continued commitment to fostering peace and stability. The visit coincides with Macron hosting bin Salman at the relocation of the Esports World Cup from Riyadh to Paris due to safety concerns related to the ongoing conflict.
