‘Disturbing’ stabbing of 8 horses on Ontario farm remains unsolved a year later

Police in Niagara Region are still trying to solve a "disturbing" animal cruelty case from a year ago that left one horse dead and several others injured. The incident occurred on the night between July 30 and July 31, 2025, at a boarding farm in Welland, Ontario.

During a routine morning check, eight horses were found with cuts or stab wounds, and one horse was discovered dead. The animals were taken to an animal hospital for emergency care, while others were treated on the farm premises. Police stated that one of the injured horses was rushed to a hospital for urgent treatment.

At the time of the attack, detectives were already investigating the case. However, a year later, the mystery remains unsolved. The Niagara regional police have renewed their appeal for information, urging anyone with knowledge about the incident to come forward or contact Crime Stoppers.
