Curfew re-imposed in Balochistan’s restive Mastung tehsil

Quetta: The Balochistan Home Department has once again imposed an indefinite curfew on Sunday in the Khad Kocha Tehsil of Mastung district, driven by security concerns and the need to uphold law and order while safeguarding public lives and property. The department's order, enforced from 7am, entirely curtails public movement on roads and in markets within Khadkocha and its surrounding areas.

District administration and law enforcement agencies have ramped up security in the region to deter and swiftly address any potential incidents. Additional law enforcement personnel have been stationed to ensure compliance, uphold state authority, and respond to any possible threats. The district administration urged residents to remain indoors and cooperate with authorities.

A notice from the administration cautioned that individuals venturing outside and breaching the restrictions would do so at their own peril. The curfew will continue until further notice, authorities have stated. Prior to this, on July 22, authorities had imposed a similar lockdown in Khadkocha following a gun attack that killed three people and injured five others on a bus bound for Karachi.
