CJP announces march from India Gate to Delhi Police HQ on Sept 5 over ‘failed’ govt promises: ‘Good faith can’t…'

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has announced a peaceful protest march in Delhi on September 5, claiming that the central government has not delivered on its promises made to youth on July 25. Following the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, the CJP had canceled its protest at Jantar Mantar over the NEET-UG 'paper leak' issue.

The party argued that the government had also promised to withdraw all FIRs registered against the protesters and provide financial support to families of NEET students who had committed suicide owing to the paper leak. However, these commitments have yet to be fulfilled, according to the CJP. In a statement, the party announced the march would commence at India Gate and move towards the Delhi Police Headquarters, with the families of NEET aspirants who died and victims of alleged police brutality taking the lead.

The CJP National Working Committee made this decision during a meeting on Monday, expressing disappointment over the lack of tangible action taken a month after the commitments were made. The party further accused the central government of failing to provide clear commitments on matters raised before the Supreme Court, citing the August 18 court hearing where the SC requested the Centre to compile a list of FIRs for potential consolidation.

CJP emphasized that their patience with the government cannot be mistaken for weakness and that their good faith should not be exploited as an opportunity for betrayal. The organization appealed to students, youth organizations, and citizens across India to join the peaceful demonstration at India Gate, urging the government to honor its commitments "in letter and spirit."
