ChatGPT now lets users create custom iMessage and WhatsApp stickers

OpenAI has introduced a new feature to ChatGPT that allows users to easily create custom stickers for use in iMessage and WhatsApp. The functionality was discovered in code a few days ago, but has now been officially announced. Users can upload any photo from their library and use it as inspiration to generate custom stickers. The tool supports transparent backgrounds, enabling users to outpaint images and restore missing parts, such as the top of a subject's head.

Users can remix multiple stickers from a single image, modify elements, or even describe the desired style for the sticker using a prompt. Once the sticker is created, a "Add to chat apps" button allows users to export it to iMessage or WhatsApp, with WhatsApp requiring a minimum of three stickers due to Meta's policy. The feature works seamlessly within the Messages application, placing the sticker in a dedicated ChatGPT section of the Stickers carousel.
