Belanjawan 2027: Pihak berkepentingan cadang inisiatif kempen miliki rumah, prasarana EV

Kementerian Perumahan dan Kerajaan Tempatan (KPKT) Malaysia has received proposals from stakeholders for potential initiatives in the 2027 budget, including the "Own Home" campaign, Home Ownership Campaign revival, and the provision of electric vehicle charging infrastructure. These suggestions were presented during the KPKT Budget Review Session on the 25th of July, attended by 350 representatives from various sectors to provide insights and input for developing more responsive initiatives to meet public needs.

The minister emphasized that all proposals would be examined based on feasibility, importance, and financial capacity, ensuring that every ringgit allocated is not only saved efficiently but also translated into tangible outcomes, impacts, and benefits for the public.

Additional proposals put forth by stakeholders include establishing a Command Centre to support the Smart City agenda, offering incentives to increase recycling rates, and implementing a green financing mechanism to encourage investment in technology and waste management solutions. Other suggestions involve increasing the annual allowance for volunteer fire stations, providing health facilities to tackle challenges faced by rural communities, and enhancing urban infrastructure to support the "Safe City" initiative.

KPKT plans to hold a discussion with the Ministry of Finance on September 3rd to discuss which proposals can be integrated into their consideration. So far, five out of six significant initiatives under this year's budget have surpassed their set targets, while one more is on track to meet or surpass its target by the end of the year.

As of July 31st, 304 non-Muslim religious institution events were organized, surpassing the target of 200 projects. Additionally, 102 Gerai Madani and upscale market establishment projects were completed, exceeding the target of 60 projects. For urban gardening and rainwater harvesting systems, 154 projects were completed, surpassing the target of 150 projects.

Meanwhile, the Public Open Spaces (POS) scheme has achieved remarkable results, with 367 projects implemented, a 734% increase compared to the 50-project target, and the "Bosana Together" program has successfully carried out 89% of its 64 planned actions as of July 31st.
