Almirón has assists on goals by Jacob and Picault as Atlanta United beats Sporting KC 2-1

Atlanta United secured a 2-1 victory over Sporting Kansas City on Sunday night, marking their first three-match MLS win streak in five years. Tomás Jacob and Fafà Picault both scored goals, assisted by Miguel Almirón, securing the win for Atlanta United. Jacob netted his third goal of the game in the 13th minute, giving Atlanta a 1-0 lead.

In the 24th minute, Picault scored off a corner kick assisted by Almirón, extending the lead to 2-0. However, Sporting KC cut the deficit in half through Stephen Afrifa's unassisted goal in the 70th minute. Luke Brennan came on as a substitute for Atlanta United in the 62nd minute but left with an injury in the 77th minute. Sporting KC's leading scorer, Dejan Joveljic, was held out due to rumors of his potential transfer to Seattle Sounders.

Atlanta United also announced the acquisition of Swiss international striker Breel Embolo from Stade Rennais in French Ligue 1.
