Akosua Serwah Sues Abusuapanyin Tupac, Another For Defamation

Akosua Serwah Fosuh, wife of the late highlife musician Daddy Lumba, has filed a lawsuit against Abusuapanyin Kofi Owusu, also known as Tupac, and his assistant Alex Kofi Boadiwaa Ampong for defamation. The lawsuit seeks compensation of GH¢3 billion from the defendants, who allegedly made false and defamatory statements regarding Akosua Serwah’s marriage to the late musician.

According to the court filing, the defendants questioned the authenticity of Akosua Serwah’s German marriage certificate on multiple occasions, claiming it was fake, forged, or fabricated, and that she was never legally married to Daddy Lumba. The plaintiff argues that these statements have damaged her reputation and is seeking an order to retract the alleged defamatory statements, issue a public apology, and publish the apology on platforms with similar reach.

The lawsuit also seeks any other relief deemed appropriate by the court, given the gravity and impact of the statements. The defendants are ordered to appear in court within eight days of being served with the lawsuit, or a judgment may be entered in their absence.
