After Wildberries, Ukraine launches drone campaign on Russia’s Ozon

Ozon, Russia's second-largest online marketplace, announced on Monday that a major fire had erupted at one of its logistics centers in the southern Krasnodar region due to a drone attack. The company stated that all systems functioned as intended, and no casualties were reported. On Sunday, a similar drone attack caused a fire at Ozon's logistics hub in the central Orenburg region, with operations currently suspended.

This strike followed an attack on an Ozon center in the Samara region the previous day, where unspecified number of workers were injured.

Ukraine initiated a campaign targeting Ozon over the weekend, with military units striking the company's 15 largest logistics hubs. The defense ministry announced that it was now Ozon's turn for targeted attacks. Additionally, a logistics center adjacent to an Ozon facility outside Saint Petersburg was also hit during the series of drone assaults.

The economic ramifications of these attacks have been significant, with several warehouses filled with flammable materials and destroyed. Russian President Vladimir Putin pledged support for Wildberries, Russia's top online retailer, which Ukraine has also targeted. The government pledged assistance in rebuilding logistics hubs damaged by Ukrainian attacks. Russia has vehemently condemned the strikes on its civilian infrastructure throughout the country's ongoing military operation in Ukraine.
