ACS accelerates AI efforts for data center hub with projects in Australia and the United Kingdom. The company is installing a 300-million-dollar fiber-optic link between Melbourne and Sydney, which requires 300 million dollars in investments. In London, ACS is expanding electrical and digital network capacity, as the UK electricity grid contracted ACS's services to modernize and expand the transmission network in Greater London, a program exceeding 1,000 million pounds (1,168 million euros).

ACS, in partnership with Murphy, will install 60 kilometers of new cabling, upgrade and expand substations, replace area lines, and work on one of the longest high-tension cable tunnels in the UK. ACS is part of National Grid's providers, which also work with Laing O Rourke, Hitachi, Siemens, and Hyundai. The North West London Upgrade aims to increase electricity transportation capacity, enhance supply security and resilience, and allow new connections in a rapidly growing demand area.

Five data centers, with a combined demand of nearly 1 gigawatt, will directly benefit from these upgrades.

In Australia, ACS, through its UGL subsidiary, has been selected by Vocus to install the first fiber-optic ring between Sydney and Melbourne to serve the strong growth of AI and data center demand. This new digital infrastructure, with a 500-million-dollar investment budget (300 million euros), includes an uninterrupted fiber-optic network with up to 6,912 fiber cores (3,456 fiber pairs).

The project is part of the larger Adip (Australian Digital Infrastructure Platform) plan, which involves thousands of kilometers of new fiber routes, thousands of new fiber pairs, and hundreds of terabits of capacity constructed in locations optimized for data center soil, water, and energy requirements. Macquarie and Aware Super Funds are among the investors in Vocus.
