2027: We’re working to unite Peter Obi, Atiku, others – Lukman

Salihu Lukman, a former Director-General of the Progressive Governors Forum, has revealed that a framework is currently being developed to unite opposition parties for the 2027 Nigerian elections. Lukman, who once worked within the APC, stated that opposition parties must recognize that their primary adversary is the APC and its presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, rather than one another.

In an interview with Arise News, Lukman announced that a proposal has been put forth for consideration by opposition leaders with the aim of forming a cohesive unit capable of presenting a single candidate to the Nigerian electorate in 2027. He emphasized that this unit would be created through a structured process where opposition leaders would agree on the criteria for selecting their candidate.

Lukman stressed that while there will only be one president for Nigeria, opposition parties must first ensure they are capable of winning the election. He urged opposition parties to work together, as their common opponent is the APC and President Tinubu. Lukman reiterated the belief that Nigerians deserve a credible option in the 2027 election, one that would allow them to vote out the APC and Bola Tinubu.
