Hoeneß argued that Germany lacked a team of "outstanding quality" and highlighted that even Argentina, which also struggled, managed to make it to the final by "throwing everything into it like crazy."

Hoeneß emphasized the need for a "well-drilled, settled team" rather than one that constantly changes tactics.
