Two Teachers, One Student Drown During Picnic In Ratlam

Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh - Tragedy struck during a school picnic on Sunday, as two teachers and a 15-year-old student lost their lives. The incident occurred at Paradise Valley, approximately 11 kilometers from Ratlam. The deceased identified were Vijay Singh, a 52-year-old teacher from Jaora, Prince, a 28-year-old teacher also from Jaora, and Harshit Patidar, the 15-year-old student.

Initially, 17 people, comprising four teachers and 13 students, had gathered for the picnic at Paradise Valley. The group ventured into a pool located beneath a waterfall for a swim. However, a mishap ensued when some children began to struggle in the water. In an attempt to rescue them, two teachers and the student drowned. Onlookers managed to rescue three children aged between five and 16, who were subsequently taken to the district hospital for treatment where their condition is stable.

Deendayal Nagar police reached the scene swiftly, along with additional police personnel. The trio of rescued children were transported to the district hospital, where they currently remain in stable condition. Meanwhile, the three unfortunate victims were rushed to a local medical college for post-mortem examination. Upon completion of the autopsy, doctors confirmed the tragic demise of Vijay Singh, Prince, and Harshit Patidar. Further inquiries into the incident are ongoing.
