Two MLAs among six injured in car crash near PWD office in Delhi

Two Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) were among six individuals who sustained minor injuries following a car accident near the Public Works Department (PWD) office in central Delhi on Sunday night, according to PTI. The collision occurred around 9:30 p.m. when a vehicle traveling from Laxmi Nagar towards ITO struck a divider, crossed a roadside railing, and collided with an Innova vehicle coming from the opposite direction, as reported by police.

The driver of the first car was Ashutosh Pandey, a 32-year-old man aged 32, who was accompanied by his wife and two minor children. The second vehicle, an Innova, was driven by Anil Jha, the sitting MLA from Kirari, and Abhay Patil, an MLA from Karnataka. All six individuals involved in the accident were reported to have sustained minor injuries and were subsequently taken to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital for treatment.

The police stated that all six were stable. A police control room (PCR) call regarding the incident was received at the I.P. Estate police station around 9:30 p.m. Upon arrival at the scene, a police team discovered both vehicles damaged. Preliminary inquiries suggested that the initial collision involved the first car hitting the divider before crossing the railing and colliding with the Innova, which was traveling from ITO towards Laxmi Nagar.

Further investigation is currently underway to ascertain the precise sequence of events leading to the accident.
