Tributes as Nollywood, Ogun mourn Ogogo at 66

Nollywood actor, Amokade Olatayo, colloquially known as Ijebu, has pleaded for forgiveness from his family, colleagues, and the public following the passing of veteran actor, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, on Sunday. In an emotional Instagram video on Monday, Ijebu candidly shared his heavy heart and implored everyone to extend forgiveness, both within and outside the film industry.

"Good morning, everyone. My heart is so heavy this morning," he began, expressing his sorrow since 6 a.m. Ijebu went on to ask his colleagues, including senior and junior actors, to forgive him, stating, "I would like to come out straight and say this to all my family, to everyone, also in the movie industry and outside the industry.

If there's anyone that I have offended in one way or the other, please forgive me. Open more doors, nurture more talents." Explaining his decision to make this public appeal, Ijebu aimed to make peace with everyone and to forgive those who may have offended him. "My heart is so heavy. I'm making this video to make peace with everyone in order to reduce the burden on my heart.

And I'm also here to tell everyone who has offended me that I have forgiven you," he added. Reflecting on the fleeting nature of life, Ijebu urged people to let go of conflicts, emphasizing, "We came to this world with nothing, and we will leave with nothing. We don't have any reason to be fighting ourselves. Life is too short."
