Raphinha, Lopez hit braces as Barcelona trounce Elche
Barcelona cruised to a 5-0 win over Elche in their La Liga opener, with Raphinha and Fermin Lopez scoring twice each.
Barcelona's Brazilian striker Raphinha and Fermin Lopez both netted twice each in a rout over Elche in their La Liga opener on Sunday. Anthony Gordon also contributed, setting up two goals for Raphinha on his debut. Karim Adeyemi, making his La Liga debut, scored the third goal. The Spanish champions, without Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres, dominated a vulnerable Elche side at the Martinez Valero stadium.
Teenage winger Lamine Yamal, part of the Spain squad, started on the right but was not at his best. Raphinha praised the team's performance, saying they played well despite facing a tough venue. Barcelona remains seeking a striker after Atletico Madrid rejected their bid for Julian Alvarez.
